IMD Makers

IMD Makers is a curated event that showcases the creative work of students in Algonquin College’s Interactive Media Design program. The brand needed to be bold, youthful, and adaptable—capturing the spirit of experimentation and digital storytelling at the heart of the program.

I designed a vibrant, modular identity system that could stretch across event posters, digital promotions, signage, and motion graphics. The logo, type, and graphic elements were built with flexibility in mind, creating a consistent look while allowing individual student projects to shine.

Goal

Develop a brand identity for IMD Makers—a student showcase that celebrates design, code, and creativity—while making space for diverse projects and styles.

Approach

I created a dynamic visual system built around modular blocks, bold typography, and vibrant accents. The design was optimized for both print and digital use, including social media templates, posters, and on-campus signage. Motion graphics were also developed to promote the event online.

Results

The identity gave the event a confident and professional tone while staying playful and student-focused. It helped unify the visual presence across platforms, boosting engagement and creating a recognizable visual foundation for future editions of the showcase.
