R3 Project

As part of Algonquin College’s R3 Project—an initiative to launch a new Student Information System (Thesis SM)—I was commissioned to design a large-scale illustration that would transform the training space into a visually engaging and meaningful environment.

The murals tells the story of the system’s development journey. Through a metaphor of construction and collaboration, the illustration highlights the many moving parts, teams, and creative effort that came together to build this campus-wide transformation. The result is a vibrant, narrative-driven piece that both inspires and informs.

Goal

Create 6 large-format illustrations for the SIS training space that visually communicates the collaborative journey behind the R3 Project and brings warmth and energy to the environment.

Approach

I developed a narrative-style vector illustration that used the metaphor of construction and teamwork to represent the process of building the new system. The composition was designed to reflect both complexity and clarity—emphasizing the idea that this system was built together. The final artwork was prepared in high resolution and optimized for mural-scale printing.

Results

The murals became a central visual feature of the training room—setting a tone of creativity, collaboration, and purpose. It helped contextualize the R3 Project for participants, while turning a plain environment into an engaging, story-driven space that reflects the college’s values.
